11-year-old girl finds dead parents at home in Missouri. Both had Covid-19.

The 11-year-old daughter of a Missouri couple with coronavirus found her parents dead at her home, according to NBC affiliate KSDK.

St. Louis County Police responded to the residence at 3500 block of Glen Bay Drive in Mehlville at about 10:30 am local time, February 18, the news station reported.

Family members told police officers that the man and woman were quarantined in their home after the test was positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the virus. Their names were not released, but both were in their 40s, according to authorities.

“We have no reason to believe that their deaths were caused by anything other than Covid-19 at this time,” the police said in a statement.

Chuck Duy, who said he spoke to a family member, told KSDK that the incident was a “terrible and tragic thing”.

The 11-year-old boy is an only child.

“Losing both parents at the same time, you know, for an 11-year-old boy, is really tragic,” he said, according to the broadcaster. “Last year, at Christmas time, they came to our door and gave us cookies. They were the nicest people. “

Since the start of the pandemic, Missouri has recorded a total of almost 520,000 cases of Covid-19 and 8,404 deaths, according to a count by NBC News.
