Two are in critical condition.
Eleven Fort Bliss soldiers were wounded after ingesting an “unknown substance” during a training exercise, according to a press release from Fort Bliss 1st Armored Division released on Thursday.
Two of these soldiers are currently in critical condition.
Military base officers in Texas are investigating the incident, the statement said, but few details are known at the moment.
“All members involved in the incident are under observation by medical professionals,” says the statement. “Fort Bliss employees will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
The 1st Armored Division – also known as “Old Ironsides” – is a renowned armored division of the US Army composed of approximately 17,000 highly trained soldiers, according to the Army’s website.
