1,062 active COVID-19 cases in Brazos County, 63 new cases reported today

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Brazos County Sanitary District reported 63 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the municipality of Brazos. Currently, there are 1,062 active cases.

No new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. There were 200 deaths in the municipality of Brazos related to COVID-19.

15,408 patients are classified as recovered, which means they have had no fever for 72 hours, no medication to lower the fever, and it has been 10 days after the onset of symptoms.

51 percent of new confirmed cases are in the 18 to 24 age group.

There have been 3,490 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. The confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations in all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 242 probable cases active and there were 3,196 probable cases recovered.

The total number of positive cases confirmed in the county since the beginning of the tests is 16,670. 174,439 tests have already been carried out.

The total occupancy of hospital beds in Brazos County is 82% and the total occupancy of beds in the ICU is 113%.

Currently, there are 30 residents in the municipality of Brazos hospitalized for COVID-19.

State Trauma Service Area N

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under the N state trauma service area (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties). The Trauma N Service Area currently reports 632 hospital beds with 105 beds available. According to the most recent data from the state, the region has 4 ICU beds available and 71 fans available. The latest state update listed 65 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 59 new cases and 549 active cases on February 1.

The university has now reported 1,946 positive cases since the week of January 9, 2021. 8.3 percent of the tests were positive.

The last update of the panel was provided on February 10, 2021.

Across the state, Texas has an estimated 272,649 active cases and 2,220,233 recoveries. There were 2,553,127 cases reported in total and 21,852,664 tests in total (viral and antibody).

To date, 40,095 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 2,861,794 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 1,103,007 Texans have been fully vaccinated. Across Texas, 4,597,600 doses were shipped.

254 out of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases, with 333,279 cases reported.
