SANTO ANTÓNIO – The San Antonio Metropolitan Sanitary District announced that 10,000 consultations for COVID-19 vaccines will open on Monday night.
Health officials made the announcement on Sunday and said 10,000 appointments for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be available starting at 6 pm Monday, on Metro Health’s COVID-19 vaccine registration website.
Residents without Internet access can call 311 and select option 8 for help with registration.
People in the Phase 1A and Phase 1B categories are currently eligible for the vaccine, as well as teachers and staff from schools and day care centers.
Phase 1A includes frontline health workers and residents of long-term care facilities and Phase 1B includes people over 65 or anyone 16 and over with a chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk severe COVID-19 disease. People who are employed in pre-primary, primary and secondary schools, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start programs (including teachers, staff and bus drivers) and those who work as or for licensed child care providers, including childcare centers. home care and family members are also eligible from 3 March.
