1 new COVID-19-related death in Brazos County, 102 new cases reported

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Brazos County Sanitary District reported 102 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the municipality of Brazos. Currently, there are 1,523 active cases.

A new death has been reported in the past 24 hours. There were 177 deaths in the municipality of Brazos related to COVID-19.

13,908 patients are classified as recovered, which means they have had no fever for 72 hours, no medication to lower the fever, and it has been 10 days after the onset of symptoms.

58% per cent of new confirmed cases are in the 18 to 24 age group.

There have been 3,196 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations in all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 425 probable cases active and there were 2,771 probable cases recovered.

The total number of positive cases confirmed in the county since the start of the tests is 15,608. 160,245 tests were carried out.

The total occupancy of hospital beds in Brazos County is 87% and the total occupancy of beds in the ICU is 129%.

Currently, there are 40 residents in the municipality of Brazos hospitalized for COVID-19.

State Trauma Service Area N

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under the N state trauma service area (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties). The Trauma N Service Area currently reports 650 hospital beds with 53 beds available. According to the most recent data from the state, the region has 0 ICU beds available and 53 fans available. The latest state update listed 88 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 70 new cases and 495 active cases on January 27.

Currently, the university recorded 5,901 positive cases, 7.2 percent of the tests were positive.

The last panel update was provided on January 30, 2021.

Across the state, Texas has an estimated 363,090 active cases and 1,932,694 recoveries. There were 2,349,262 cases reported in total and 19,956,098 tests in total (viral and antibody).

To date, 36,320 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 1,109,874 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 166,934 Texans have been fully vaccinated. Across Texas, 1,723,675 doses were shipped.

254 out of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases, with 311,665 cases reported.
