1 dead, 1 in custody after BCSO persecution ends in collision, deputies say

SANTO ANTÓNIO – One person is dead and one is in custody after an overnight chase in Northeast Bexar County on Sunday, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

A policeman spotted a gray Ford Focus driving recklessly after 1 am on block 7400 on Tarrasa Drive.

The driver hit several sidewalks and refused to stop, which started the chase. The car passed the traffic lights and started driving in the wrong direction, a BCSO spokesman told KSAT.

At one point, the car continued to travel in the wrong direction when it hit a semi-mule and the Toyota Camry at the intersection of Rittiman Road and Fratt.

The semi-driver was in good condition. However, the Camry driver died at the scene, deputies said.

The policemen took the driver of the gray car into custody. He is facing charges of vehicle evasion and other charges are pending.
