A public health provider in Israel says 0.01 percent of people who received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine tested positive for the virus.
Maccabi Healthcare Services is responsible for a program that uses the vaccine developed by Pfizer and its partner BioNTech. On Monday, he released preliminary results of a survey of 128,600 people who received two doses.
Maccabi says 20 of the recipients were infected with the virus a week after receiving the second injection.
Maccabi says all 20 developed symptoms such as coughing and headaches, but none were hospitalized.
He adds that ten of them suffer from underlying diseases.
Maccabi says the data is preliminary, but very encouraging.
