Health officials are expecting an increase in Johnson & Johnson’s single injection COVID vaccine in Illinois in the coming days, but where can you find it?
Although the state has not specified where the dose flow will be delivered specifically, there are already some locations that offer the option of receiving the vaccine.

Jewel-Osco, for example, is offering the option for customers to choose which vaccine they would like to make an appointment for, when available.
In the supermarket chain vaccine programmer, customers can select whether to check their queries with Pfizer or Moderna two-dose vaccines or with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
“Osco Drug Pharmacy offers customers a choice of vaccines based on the allocation received,” a company spokesman told NBC 5. “We are adding appointments for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as soon as the supply is available”
In the meantime, Illinois announced on Friday that it is sending “Rapid Response Vaccination Teams” to five counties where epidemiologists “have determined that there is a need to administer doses quickly to slow rising trends,” said IDPH. These teams will administer Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccines to residents in addition to what the counties are already allocated.
These counties are: Carroll, Ogle, Boone, Lee and Whiteside. Details on doses and how to make an appointment can be found here.

Residents can also observe vaccination events or mass vaccination sites across the state.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker received his COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday at the Illinois State Fairground, where he said he received an injection from Johnson & Johnson.
Earlier this month, Aurora held a one-day mass vaccination clinic in partnership with Walgreens where participants received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and Des Plaines launched a mass vaccination site that initially administered the single dose vaccine.
According to Pritzker, doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are expected to increase sharply in the coming days.
“We hope to see a significant number, millions of doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine coming soon in the next few days,” said the governor during an unrelated news conference on Friday. “And then, hopefully, a sustained increase at Johnson & Johnson, as well as we continue to see an increase at Pfizer and Moderna.”
