LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – An armed suspect was arrested at the University of Kentucky’s Chandler Hospital on Thursday, prompting a massive response from local and federal police.
UK police chief Joe Monroe said another agency informed the department that the suspect, Bryan Carroll, of Versailles, 44, was going to the hospital to visit a relative and could be “armed and dangerous”.

Monroe said the police found Carroll when he was leaving the hospital and took him into custody immediately.
Firearms and body armor were found in the suspect’s possession, and possible explosives were found in his vehicle, Monroe said.

Monroe said Carroll will face several local and federal charges.
FBI and ATF agents were on site assisting local police officers in the investigation. Several EMS and firefighters were also on site, as well as personnel dressed in anti-bomb clothing and a bomb disposal robot.
