Bears gave permission to defensive tackle Akiem Hicks to seek an exchange, but nothing has materialized and it now looks like Hicks will remain in Chicago.
Hicks is now will likely remain with the Bears, Brad Biggs of Chicago Tribune reports.
The Bears officially eliminated cornerback Kyle Fuller on Saturday, and their precarious salary cap situation led them to consider Hicks’ split as well. Hicks is approaching the last year of his contract and is expected to earn $ 10.5 million this season.
But the Bears have not found a business partner, and Hicks, 31, is not going anywhere.
