For its latest Nook device, Barnes & Noble partnered with Lenovo to create a branded Android tablet. Lenovo’s 10-inch Nook highlights Google Kids Space.
In terms of hardware, this is a fairly standard Android – unspecified version – tablet with a 10.1-inch HD IPS screen that features “TÜV Rheinland certified eye protection to help decrease harmful blue light” and a proportion 85% body screen that offers (in portrait orientation) thin sides, but a thicker top / bottom.
There are front and rear cameras with a “all-metal body” that weighs 0.9 pounds, as well as “dual speakers with Dolby Atmos technology”. Inside, it is powered by a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor with 32 GB of storage and microSD card slot expansion. The battery has a capacity of up to 10 hours on a single charge.
On the software front, the Nook application is pre-installed for books, magazines and newspapers. There’s also Kids Space, Google’s end-to-end family experience for Android tablets that features a personalized launcher. Its addition by Lenovo makes sense especially considering who is likely to buy this tablet.
The 10-inch Nook HD Tablet manufactured by Lenovo will start at $ 129.99 and will be available in early April at Barnes & Noble. The bookstore has already partnered with Samsung on tablets before starting on its own. The last tablet was launched in 2018, but still sells e-ink readers.
