Phillip Lindsay agrees to the Houston Texans’ terms

Former Denver Broncos runner Phillip Lindsay has a new home.

Lindsay (5-8, 190 pounds) agreed with a one year agreement with the Houston Texans, announced his agent on Twitter Friday night.

Lindsay was born and raised in the Denver area and played college football in Colorado. He signed with the Broncos as a free college agent in 2018 and became the first unsigned offensive rookie in NFL history to make it to the Pro Bowl after running for more than 1,000 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns in his first season.

Lindsay had another 1,000 yard season in 2019, but Denver brought Melvin Gordon to serve as the team’s new workhorse in 2020. Lindsay battled multiple injuries last season and had the worst year of her career, totaling just 530 yards. scrimmage and a touchdown.

In Houston, Lindsay is likely to compete for rotational playing time with David Johnson and Mark Ingram, who agreed to a one-year contract with the Texans earlier this month.
