In a movement programmed to generate enthusiasm for WrestleMania 37 in the morning tickets for the April 10 and 11 shows for sale to the general public, WWE announced that Hulk Hogan and Titus O’Neil will host the two nights of the event at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.
A strange duo, but both the twice WWE Hall of Famer and the first 24/7 champion are proud children of Florida. O’Neil was also among Hogan’s most severe critics when he was brought back to the company group after being fired for previous racist statements, so dividing the stage probably means inferring something about Hulk’s status in the locker room. Or at least make fans upset to see someone who was recorded saying “I’m racist to some extent, you know, fucking shit” think twice before they boo, since they would also boo a local college football hero and winner of the “ Father of the Year ”who is heavily involved with charities in the Tampa area.
We’ll see how it works for them, both in terms of increasing ticket sales and avoiding mockery.
Here is the official announcement:
WrestleMania is back in business, as WWE announced today that the WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan and the WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil will host the two-night pop culture extravaganza at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on Saturday, 10 April and Sunday, April 11, 2021.
Tickets for WrestleMania presented by SNICKERS are now on sale at www.ticketmaster.com. The two-night event will be broadcast live exclusively at Peacock at 8 pm ET in the United States and on the WWE Network everywhere else.
A bigger than life icon and a pop culture phenomenon, Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest names in WWE history. On January 23, 1984, “Hulkamania” was officially born when he defeated The Iron Sheik to become WWE champion at Madison Square Garden. He was the main attraction at WrestleMania III, where he successfully defended the WWE Championship against Andre The Giant against a record 93,173 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome. Hogan won six WWE championships, starred in films, television shows and became an idol for a vast legion of fans that he dubbed “Hulkamaniacs”. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone, and this year he will become a double inductee in the Hall of Fame with the acclaim of The nWo, one of the most notorious factions of sports entertainment.
Titus O’Neil is one of the most philanthropic Superstars in WWE history and a former WWE Tag Team and Champion 24/7. A constant presence in the Tampa Bay community and passionate about giving back to needy families, O’Neil founded The Bullard Family Foundation, an organization that offers special moments, programs and resources to needy families and children to help build character and develop relationships and strengthen the communities around you. In addition, O’Neil is a WWE Ambassador, helping thousands of people through various nonprofit organizations and WWE partners, including Susan G. Komen, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Special Olympics. His passion for the community and the uplift of others inspired him to write his first book, “There is no such thing as a bad child: how I went from stereotype to prototype” in 2019. O’Neil is a native of Tampa Bay and graduated from University of Florida, where he was a prominent football player for the Gators.
Don’t miss the live broadcast of WrestleMania 37 as part of a two-night event, starting at 8 ET / 5 PT on April 10 and 11 exclusively on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network everywhere else.
