OnePlus was one of the first brands to adopt the fastest charging technology and we saw important advances in the OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8T last year. Now, the company has revealed what to expect from the OnePlus 9 series when it comes to refills.
The BBK-owned brand noted in a forum post that the OnePlus 9 Pro will be equipped with Warp Charge 50 Wireless technology, offering 50W wireless charging speeds. This represents a significant update on the paper compared to the OnePlus 8 Pro’s 30 W charging, and connects it with models like the Xiaomi Mi 11.
OnePlus adds that this speed update means that you can charge your OnePlus 9 Pro wirelessly from zero to 100% in 43 minutes. The company also announced that it will launch a new wireless charging pad that has two charging coils, allowing you to charge in portrait or landscape orientations. Unfortunately, the company did not mention wireless charging details for the standard OnePlus 9, which suggests that it will have much slower speeds or will not have wireless charging capabilities. However, both phones will be equipped with 65W wired charging features, in combination with last year’s OnePlus 8T.
The OnePlus 9 series features a number of hardware tweaks and software optimizations to offer improved wired charging speeds over last year’s phone. OnePlus says that the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will take 29 minutes to go from 1% to 100% of capacity, reducing the charging time of the OnePlus 8T by 10 minutes.
