Microsoft once again commented on the possibility that an Xbox mini refrigerator will become a real product that you can buy. Xbox marketing chief Aaron Greenberg said on Twitter that the new promotion of the Xbox mini-refrigerator with The Rock was purposely designed as a test case for whether Microsoft will actually create a real consumer product for people buy into. For those just starting to catch up, The Rock – which has been a partner of Microsoft for decades – launched a campaign with the Xbox mini-fridge and its energy drink brand ZOA; check out the video below to learn more.
Asked directly whether an Xbox mini-fridge would become a real product available for purchase, Greenberg said on Twitter, “Think of us testing that mini-refrigerator market with this promotion. We know that fans would also love to be able to buy an X Series mini-refrigerator in the future!”
In another tweet, Greenberg commented, “We are increasing our mini-refrigerator operations. Stay tuned!”
This is not the first time that Greenberg has commented on the possibility of an Xbox mini fridge becoming a real product. In October, he asked his more than 200,000 followers if they would be interested in buying it – and most respondents said, “Yes, accept my money now.”
Help me here for some market research. Q: Would you be interested in buying an Xbox mini refrigerator if we made one for sale?
When Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X in December 2019, people immediately transformed its design into a refrigerator. Microsoft took the comments calmly, embracing the conversation with its own memes. That went even further when Microsoft created a real Xbox Series X cooler that it sent to Snoop Dogg and others, and the phenomenon grew again this week with a new promotion featuring The Rock.
