The 49ers used the reserve quarterback a lot in the management of Kyle Shanahan at the club. With Jimmy Garoppolo still scheduled to head the team in 2021, San Francisco is apparently looking for a seasoned veteran.
According to Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the 49ers will receive Joe Flacco for a visit.
After Lamar Jackson emerged as the Baltimore starter in 2018, Flacco spent the 2019 season with the Broncos and 2020 with the Jets. Flacco started four games for New York, with Jets going 0-4 in those competitions. He completed 55 percent of his passes for 864 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions.
Flacco played under the command of 49ers quarterback coach Rich Scangarello in his only season in Denver. Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Shanahan has long thought that Flacco would be a good option for his attack.
The Ravens climbed Flacco to 18th overall in 2008. He was MVP for Super Bowl XLVII when Baltimore defeated San Francisco in the 2012 season.
