Starfield could be released this year

Bethesda’s next title Starfield has gained a lot of interest from the players, despite the fact that very little has been revealed so far. However, if a new rumor is true, the game could be released later this year! The rumor came from insider Jeff Grubb, who revealed during a Dealer Gaming stream that he believes there is a 90% chance the game will be revealed at E3 and released around November. Grubb was quick to point out on Twitter that this is what Microsoft and Bethesda expect to happen, but that does not mean it is the right thing at all.

Grubb’s comment on Twitter can be found below.

Fans should keep in mind that a lot can change in the video game industry. Games often have problems during the development process, and the coronavirus pandemic has certainly created a significant number of problems for publishers. E3 2021 will be a digital event held in June, so a revelation could happen in the coming months, if Grubb is correct about the timing.

Starfield has been in production for some time, so it wouldn’t be incomprehensible to see the game released this year. However, almost nothing of the game was shown publicly outside of its logo. This was revealed alongside a brief teaser trailer in 2018, but Bethesda has remained silent about the game since then. The revelation came long before the developer and its ZeniMax Media controller were purchased by Microsoft, so it remains to be seen whether the game will be released on platforms outside of the Xbox and PC. Microsoft has indicated that some Bethesda games will still appear on other platforms, but it seems unlikely that the game will be released on PlayStation 5.

For now, fans will just have to be patient and see what the next few months will bring. In the meantime, readers can check out our previous coverage of Starfield right here.
