Elon Musk shows off the brilliant SpaceX Starship

SpaceX’s plans to leave Earth’s orbit begin with the Starship, a state-of-the-art spacecraft that could one day deploy satellites, transport artists around the moon and even land on Mars.

Founder of SpaceX Elon Musk tweeted this look over a stainless steel starship prototype in Texas on January 10, 2019. This version was not intended for orbital service, but was used as a hopper to test takeoffs and landings. The newer prototypes look a little different.

“The starship will look like liquid silver,” Musk tweeted in late 2018. SpaceX is working on an orbital prototype in Texas and placing a series of test vehicles on short flights. Musk said he wants to put a starship in orbit as early as July 2021.
