The Xbox Game Pass received another shot in the arm, as one of the best Nintendo Switch games is coming to service on March 25.
Square Enix’s acclaimed Octopath Traveler, released on Switch in 2018, will be available on the console and PC for Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, Microsoft announced.
It is surprising that so little fanfare was made with the arrival of the Octopath Traveler, however, considering that its launch caught many people completely off guard. The game has been available for PC since June 2019, but there was no sign that the turn-based JRPG would hit the Xbox consoles.
Of course, Octopath Traveler is not the only game to arrive on the Xbox Game Pass, which recently added 20 Bethesda games to celebrate the multi-billion dollar acquisition of its parent company, ZeniMax Media.
Subscribers can also wait for another Square Enix game: the next Outriders looter shooter. The game will be released on April 1 on the Xbox Game Pass and can be played on the console and through the cloud on Android phones and tablets.
Here is a list of the other 10 titles that subscribers can expect to see over the rest of March:
- Undertale (cloud, console and PC – available today
- Empire of Sin (Cloud, Consoles and PC) – March 18
- Nier: Automata (PC) – March 18
- Star Wars: Squadrons (Console) – March 18
- Torchlight 3 (PC) – March 18
- Genesis Noir (Console and PC) – March 25
- Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire – Ultimate Edition (PC) – March 25
- Supraland (PC) – March 25
- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (Cloud, Console and PC) – March 25
- Narita Boy (cloud, console and PC) – March 30
It’s already been a great week for Xbox news, with Microsoft adding FPS Boost – a feature that can double and sometimes quadruple a game’s frame rate on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – for Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Prey, Dishonored: Definite Edition and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
These games originally ran at 30fps on Xbox One, but will now be able to reach 60fps to provide a smoother and more responsive overall experience.
Microsoft also launched the Xbox Wireless Headset. We were extremely impressed with Microsoft’s gaming headsets and considered them worthy of our coveted Editor’s Choice award.
