Rockstar realized this situation and issued a statement to PC Gamer, confirming that the t0st findings were accurate. In addition, he informed that he will be releasing an update that will incorporate his solution to improve the loading time of GTA Online on the PC.
“After a thorough investigation, we can confirm that the player actually revealed an aspect of the game’s code related to the loading times of the PC version of GTA Online that could be improved,” the company said in a statement. “As a result of these investigations, we made some changes that will be implemented in an upcoming title update.”Rockstar did not share when the fix would be available, nor whether fans could expect a 70% reduction in load times, but said it had contacted t0st and that the company thanked them for their efforts.
T0st shared that Rockstar gave them $ 10,000 through its Bug Bounty program. This is an even more impressive result, as this service from Rockstar is usually intended for anyone who discovers a privacy security issue in the company’s online games. This was a special case, and Rockstar made “an exception” to honor the work of t0st.
IGN contacted Rockstar for a comment.
