THE PlayStation 5 it is not easier to obtain today than it was when Sony launched the next-generation console last fall. At the moment, the PS5 is sold out in both configurations: the $ 500 model with Blu-ray and the least expensive Digital edition of just $ 400 without optical drive. Although “sold out” remains the situation at all major retailers now, those same stores (as well as Sony itself) have managed to refuel occasionally, flushing out their console cache. To get the latest updates on when retailers can have inventory and offer it for sale online, be sure to check here frequently.

As of March 15, there were no PS5 consoles available for purchase at regular retail stores anywhere. If you are willing to spend money like water, you can purchase a PS5 or PS5 package from a retailer like eBay or StockX – but we recommend that you wait. In a few more months, we expect inventory levels to rise, and then you may regret spending $ 1,000 or more to purchase a PS5 earlier.
You can monitor where the PS5 is available on its own; Twitter, for example, is a good source for rumors of refueling. But occasionally, we receive news directly from retailers and informants about upcoming inventory stocks and update this post immediately. Again, be aware: it will probably be months before anything close to normal stock levels appears in stores, so getting your own PS5 is likely to be a challenge until summer, at the very least. Below you will find a list of all major retailers (and some high profile resellers) where you can monitor inventory and availability.

PS5 refueling options at major retailers
You can check the Amazon page for the $ 400 digital edition via the button below or, if you prefer, queue for the PS5 with Blu-ray for $ 500.
When in stock, Best Buy offers the PS5 with Blu-ray for $ 500 along with the digital edition of $ 400 (which you can find by clicking the button below). The retailer is also offering a range of accessories on its PS5 homepage.
When in stock, Target offers the PS5 with Blu-ray for $ 500, in addition to the PS5 Digital Edition, which you can find by clicking the button below.
You can check the availability of the $ 400 digital edition at Walmart by clicking the button below, or you can try to steal the most expensive PS5 with Blu-ray for $ 500.
We don’t recommend spending more than retail to get a PS5, but if you need a console now, eBay is your shortcut to getting a console. That said, expect to pay hundreds over the list; the average price of the PS5 on eBay is around $ 800.
If you’ve exhausted all the usual retail options and are willing to pay hundreds over the list price, you can take a look at StockX, an eBay alternative that made its name in the secondary market for designer sneakers and clothing. The last time we checked, PS5 prices were hovering just under $ 650. We don’t think it’s worth it, but let your conscience (and your wallet) be your guide).
