Outriders, People Can Fly’s next third-person loot game, will be released on the Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft confirmed on Monday. Players who have a Game Pass subscription can download the game on April 1 or play it using Microsoft’s cloud gaming service, which is currently in beta.
The announcement comes a few weeks after the players got their hands on the Outriders through its playable demo, which allows players to take their progress to the full game. In our impressions of the demo, we saw how invigorating it is to have useful withdrawals just a few hours into the game – a good sign of how Outriders can handle your withdrawal on April 1st.
Outriders occurs on a distant planet called Enoch. After being colonized by humans, something goes terribly wrong and players are paralyzed for years. They emerge with special powers decades later and have to help their friends – now much older – to recover the planet.
Players can choose from four different classes and team up with two other friends to explore Enoch and win some items. Outriders also operates differently from most loot games, as People Can Fly has made it clear that the game is not a live service game – meaning that there are no additional updates planned and all final game content will be available for the players at launch.
Outriders will also be released on Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam. The game offers full cross-play, so Game Pass friends can play with others on the PC, for example.
