Tesla officially gave CEO Elon Musk the title “Technoking of Tesla” in a new regulatory filing on Monday.
Musk will maintain his position as chief executive, Tesla said. Zach Kirkhorn, Tesla’s chief financial officer, also received a new title: “Master of Currency”.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, the automaker said: “Effective March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn and Master of Coin, respectively.”
It is unclear what motivated the new titles. Last month, the automotive company announced that it bought $ 1.5 billion in bitcoin.
