AUBURN LINEUP

Auburn’s lineup (5-0, 5-0 SEC) will once again be highlighted by a rich experience with a handful of young people.

The Western corps returns to competition this Saturday and will again be led by a trio of senior All-Americans in Deanna Green, Taylor Searles and Terri-June Granger with Green and Searles competing in Horsemanship and Rein.

Green and Searles each have four wins in the year in Riding and will be accompanied by two experienced second year students in Olivia Tordoff and Maddie Spak. Tordoff, an All-American at the event, has a 5-0-0 best mark of the team of the year, while Spak has three wins in total.

Freshman Madison Parduhn won a spot in the Horsemanship lineup after a big dispute against Georgia two weeks ago. Norman, Oklahoma’s product obtained the best score of his career, 78 against the Bulldogs, for the first victory of his career.

Granger, Green and Searles will compete on Reins for the cast in the second half of Western Saturday. Searles has three wins in the event, while Granger and Green each have two.

Second year Boo Kammerer leads the Reins Corps with a 4-0-1 mark this season and was named the SEC’s Knight of the Month in February. Freshman Isabella Tesmer completes the five Reining drivers against South Carolina and is undefeated in the event 3-0-0.

Auburn’s Jumping Seat list has four Tigers competing in Fences and Flat. Senior All-American Taylor St. Jacques leads the charge, with a perfect record of 5-0-0 in each event.

Juniors McKayla Langmeier and Emma Kurtz and second year Ava Stearns will also compete in Fences and Flat for the cast. Langmeier is 7-2-1 overall between the two events, while Kurtz has reached the 10-win mark and is 10-4-0 overall. Stearns is 7-3-1 with a 5-1-0 record at Fences.

Junior Meghan Knapic will play for Fences for the Tigers, having a 6-1-0 record this season. Freshman Ellie Ferrigno is coming out of a big weekend, unbeaten in the Jumping Seat for the team against Lynchburg and Sweet Briar (March 6). She will ride in Flat for Auburn against the Gamecocks.

AUBURN-SOUTH CAROLINA SERIES

Auburn is 28-19 in the series’ history with the Gamecocks, winning the last 15 games. Tigers are 11-7 in Plains vs. South Carolina.

The two teams opened the 2020-21 season last fall, October 16, in Blythewood, SC Auburn, with an impressive 14-5 win on the roads earlier this year, winning all four MOP honors in the process.
