Merimbula shark attack: beach closed after woman bitten off NSW’s far south coast


A 63-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after being bitten by a shark on the main beach in Merimbula.

The woman was bitten on the hip and back at about 7 am on Saturday.

Emergency services attended the site and about 30 km of beach, on the south coast of New South Wales, were closed as authorities work to confirm the type of shark and its size.
