NFL teams had to make radical cuts this week to meet this year’s salary cap, which was cut by $ 15.7 million from 2020 to $ 182.5 million, but for Arizona Cardinals, it seemed like a no-brainer to release cornerback Robert Alford, who managed to win almost $ 15 million, despite never having actually played a game.

Alford would still make $ 14.95 million in guarantees, according to OverTheCap.com.
He would not remain a free agent as long as the Cardinals reassumed him with a one-year contract on Friday, according to the NFL Network.
