The chaos surrounding the 2020 election has meant that one story often supplants the other before we have time to process anything. The FiveThirtyEight Politics podcast, for example, had plans to do a documentary audio report in March 2020 that would detail the 72 hours between South Carolina’s primaries and Super Tuesday, when then-candidate Joe Biden went from oppressed to practically the candidate likely.
This never happened. The pandemic left us confined and completely overturned our coverage plans. And it was not the only time that we destroyed our plans in 2020.
