Meyers Leonard is receiving an olive branch from at least some members of the Jewish community – a group called “Jew in the City” wants to work with the Heat player, instead of canceling it.
We get “Jew in the city“founder Allison Josephs on Wednesday in New York, during a protest in front of NBC, which we’ll talk about in a moment – but right away, we asked her about the Leonard anti-Semitic insult incident.

Allison is really very merciful, saying that the guy should have a second chance, as long as he’s willing to learn what epithet that he used it really means for Jews … and to learn more about the Jewish people in general.

She suggests that Meyers really does meet some Jews. As we reported, Patriots star Julian Edelmanit’s already reached out to him, and Allison believes that this is the right approach in these situations.
Speaking of educating the masses … the group was demonstrating on 30 Rock as part of its campaign to correct inaccurate representations of Orthodox Jews on NBC programs like “Nurses” and ‘Law & Order: SVU.’

You may have heard about the “Nurses” fiasco recently – which forced NBC to withdraw the episode in question entirely after being accused of rehashing anti-Semitic tropes. Welp, Allison says there’s nothing new and points to an episode of SVU from season 9 that so cringeworthy.
Allison is demanding an end to what his organization sees as a clear media bias against Jews.
