The NFL released its compensatory choices for the 2021 draft on Wednesday, with the Dallas Cowboys receiving more, with four.
The Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers each received three compensatory choices. Two teams – New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams – received two compensatory choices in the third round.
The compensation formula is based on free agents who left the teams before the 2020 season.
Throughout this year, there were 36 compensatory choices attributed to 17 clubs. The Collective Bargaining Agreement limits the number of compensatory selections to the number of clubs in the league (32), but this year four choices were added for teams that had a minority employee hired by another club as their head coach or chief football executive (general Manager). They received compensation in the form of a special recruitment selection in the third round of each of the next two drafts, or in each of the next three drafts, if two minority employees of the employing club were hired for these positions by another club or clubs.
