EAGAN, Minnesota – The Vikings announced on Wednesday that they had launched Riley Reiff.
The 32-year-old played 58 games in the regular season at Purple over four seasons, all of which started on the left tackle.
Reiff was chosen in 2012 in the first round of Detroit and spent the first five seasons of his career with Lions.
But he signed with the Vikings as a free agent in March 2017, providing stability, endurance and leadership at a key point along the Minnesota offensive line.
Reiff, who grew up in Parkston, South Dakota, has been captain of the team for all four seasons with the Vikings.
“I love the boy. He’s a tough, physical guy,” Vikings chief coach Mike Zimmer said of Reiff at the end of the 2020 season. “He’s a professional professional. He goes out and works every day. He had a very good year. He’s a great fighter; he’ll fight you all day, so he’s really everything you want in an offensive lineman. “
