Piers Morgan, the former co-host of ITV’s “Good Morning Britain”, accessed Twitter on Wednesday to address his critics and defend freedom of expression.
Morgan abruptly left the set this week after a tense exchange with another co-host. The network later announced that it had severed ties with the program. He used Twitter to show that the consequences did little to change his opinion on the matter.
“On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her interview on Oprah,” he posted. “I had time to reflect on that opinion, and I still don’t have it. If you did, that’s fine. Freedom of speech is a hill that I am happy to die for. Thank you for all the love and hate. I will spend more time with my opinions. “
He posted the message attached to a photo of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill with his famous quote: “Some people’s idea of [free speech] is that they are free to say what they want, but if someone answers, that is an outrage. “
Morgan left the set after a conversation with co-host Alex Beresford.
Morgan has criticized the Sussex and was confronted by Beresford, who criticized him for appearing to hold a grudge against Meghan over an unidentified earlier contempt.
Morgan walked away and said, “OK, I’m done with this. Sorry, no, I can’t do this.”
He came back later.

Morgan drew more than 40,000 complaints after saying he did not “believe a word” of Meghan’s allegations about racism and intimidation by the Royal Family. This led to an investigation by Morgan by “Ofcom”, or the Office of Communications, in the United Kingdom, according to its “rules of harm and wrongdoing”.
