Famous TV presenter Piers Morgan left “Good Morning Britain” on Tuesday, just hours after his co-star confronted him over relentless criticism of Meghan Markle.
“After discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan decided that now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain,” the network said in a statement.
“ITV accepted this decision and has nothing more to add.”
Morgan, 55, left the set furious on Tuesday after his colleague Alex Beresford called on him for continuing to “destroy” Markle.
“I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You made it so clear several times on this show, and I understand that you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she interrupted you, ”said Beresford, before questioning whether Morgan had any personal problems with the Duchess of Sussex.
“Did she say anything about you after she cut you off? She has the right to interrupt you, if she wants to. And yet you continue to destroy it. “
Morgan later explained that he was “irritated”, so “went for a little relaxation and came back to end the discussion”.
“I prefer not to sit there and listen to colleagues call me diabolical”, he wrote on Twitter.
Morgan repeatedly attacked Markle, 39, for sitting down with Oprah Winfrey for a revealing interview that aired Sunday in the US and Monday in the UK.
