- THE Astros put Pedro Báez on the injured list, by team announcement. The move makes room on the list of 40 men for Jake Odorizzi, whose signature has been made official. Although the club did not give a reason for the placement of IL de Báez, it is almost certainly related to COVID-19. The veteran reliever was one of eight Houston pitchers to leave the team last weekend as part of the league’s health and safety protocols. It is not clear whether Báez was one of the players who tested positive for coronavirus; players can also be placed on COVID IL to display symptoms or for exposure.
