SAN FRANCISCO – The key to the Men’s Basketball Tournament 2021 Pac-12 presented by New York Life is defined with the regular season champion OREGON claiming the first place in the ranking. The 24th edition is scheduled to begin this Wednesday, March 10th, for its fifth year at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

OREGON won its second consecutive title of the regular season due to finishing with the best winning percentage of the Conference (14-4, 0.778). The Ducks have now won at least a share of four in the last six league titles of the regular season, including their third number one in that period.

USC (15-5, .750) finished as runner-up and will be seed # 2, with seed # 3 COLORADO (14-6, 0.700), seed # 4 UCLA (13-6, 0.684) and No. 5 seed OREGON STATE (10-10, .500) also winning goodbye in the first round. The beavers won STANFORD (10-10, .500) for the final farewell by virtue of their previous victory over the ducks with the best seeds.

With 11 teams eligible to participate in the 2021 tournament, the format of the event was adjusted to 10 games in total, with three first round matches on Wednesday, March 10, followed by four quarterfinal games on Thursday , March 11, two semifinals on Friday, March 12, and the championship on Saturday, March 13.

The first five seeds will receive goodbye in the first round in the updated key, with seeds 4 and 5 scheduled to meet in the second quarter-finals of Thursday.

In addition, warning times have been adjusted to allow for improved testing protocols and proper hygiene between games.

If one or more teams are unable to compete in the Tournament, the Tournament key will be modified and the teams will be propagated again. All changes to the key and reseed must be made by 11:30 am PT on Tuesday, March 9th. If a team is to withdraw from the tournament after 11:30 pm PT on Tuesday, March 9, the key will not be changed, and the team’s opponent will receive a farewell in the next round of the Tournament.
