Poor Meghan Markle, isn’t it?
And do it while she drops the bomb type – Prince Harry’s family is not just overtly racist, they took her to consider suicide during pregnancy and denied the help she begged – it will destroy once and for all any chance of Harry had to reconcile with the British royal family.
“I wasn’t planning on saying anything shocking!” Megs told Oprah.
Please. As we all know, Meghan is not such a good actress. Or a concealer.
Whopper Number One, at the beginning of the interview: Meghan knew nothing about the British royal family – nothing! After all, she is American!
Here she was, living her life, starring in a basic legal drama, when she was sucked into the real life vortex. Castles, riches, titles, instant global fame, a team of servants and advisers – none of that mattered to her at all
“All the greatness connected to these things,” said Meghan, never meant anything, not even part of the attraction.
Says the woman who invited Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney to her wedding – celebrities she has never met.
Oh, and so that we don’t forget the applause of the Palace this week, revealing that Meghan had received blood diamonds donated by MBS after he authorized the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and used them, although warned not to do so – an accusation that Meghan did not deny.
Whopper Number Two: She never looked for Harry on Google when they started dating. She also never searched on Google or followed her media coverage because it never mattered to her either – says the woman who posed for a Vanity Fair cover story even before she and Harry became engaged.
As for the catastrophic event that Meghan calls a “turning point”, the moment when she learned that royalty was plotting to destroy her and she and Harry had to go: the tabloid reporting that she made Duchess Kate cry.
No, says Meghan: Kate did your cry. And the firm would not allow Meghan to deny it.
As Harry once said, “Whatever Meghan wants, Meghan gets!”
So, should we believe that Meghan has had no recourse so far? No friend or substitute who could clear things up? After all, she is notoriously contentious when it comes to British tabloids – you know, the ones she claims not to read.
Then the day came when Meghan was advised not to go out to lunch with a friend, because she was very visible.
“Well,” Meghan remembers saying, “I haven’t been out of the house for months!”
As we enter the second year of quarantine.
Since complaining “not many people ask me if I’m okay” amid hungry and poor children in South Africa, we haven’t received such a deaf statement from dear old Megs, that perpetual victim.
“The Queen has always been wonderful to me,” said Meghan, before claiming that a very senior royal – who would be the Queen, Harry’s father, Prince Charles (who, Harry tells us, stopped taking his calls for a while and cut him off financially, wonder why), or brother Prince William – told a desperate and suicidal Meghan that she could not seek professional help.
So Meghan is saying that they would be happy if she killed herself?
Of course it seems. But after Harry joined the chat, he told Oprah that he never told any member of his family about it.
So what it is? Did the main royals know and do not care or did they really have no idea?
Meghan quickly changed, claiming that there was a serious discussion within the royal family about how black her baby could be and the decision to refuse the child any security – zero, zip, nothing, Meghan again implying that royalty wouldn’t mind coming to a real child who wouldn’t be 100% white.
British taxpayers spent millions on Harry and Meghan’s wedding. Prince Charles accompanied her to the altar. The queen, as Meghan admits, was warm, welcoming and motherly. Meghan quickly became an object of fascination and adoration, a unique figure who, like Diana, could modernize the crown.
Meghan and Harry had a lot of goodwill. People were rooting for them.
That was before.
As for Oprah’s question about whether Meghan wanted a real life just to get out quickly and build her brand as a newly created global celebrity, nonsense, she says! None.
No follow-up by Oprah on the construction of the SussexRoyal site once outside the castle walls and the couple’s attempt to monetize their title until the Queen defeated them.
Interestingly, after Meghan denied having any plans, Harry told Oprah that he would never have left the royal family had it not been for Meghan.
“I was under arrest,” he said, “but I didn’t know I was under arrest.”
Meghan helped him find that out, he said. That’s why they announced that they wanted a life of privacy before settling in LA and streaming endless videos from their $ 14 million mansion and signing deals with Spotify and Netflix and appearing on “So You Think You Can Dance ”(Meghan) and sit down for a prime time count on Oprah Winfrey.
In preparation for tonight’s special, Meghan and Harry announced that this would be their final word, really. They said everything they had to say and, in addition, they will not be available for comment.
What? Don’t you believe them?
