On Sunday afternoon, eligibility for consultations at the mass center COVID vaccination site at the United Center was open to all Chicago residents who are 18 years of age or older and who have pre-existing health problems.
In a significant change, bookings via Zocdoc will only be available to residents of the city of Chicago. According to Governor JB Pritzker’s office, the change was made at the request of the Federal Emergency Management Association to better ensure that vaccine markings would be available to “vulnerable populations” in the city itself.
Anyone aged 18 or over with underlying medical conditions, including cancer, diabetes, obesity and other comorbidities, is eligible to apply for consultations.
For residents of the Cook County suburb who wish to apply for vaccinations at the United Center, vacancies will be allocated through the Cook County COVID vaccine website starting this week. The application process for these nominations will be announced in the next few days, according to the authorities.
People who cannot access the site can call 833-308-1988 Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 7 pm, according to authorities.
Some of the remaining doses from the United Center’s mass vaccination site will also be given to mobile vaccination teams and will be available in areas most affected by the pandemic, according to authorities. More details on these sites will be made available in the coming weeks.
