Since his debut on the CW, Superman and Lois it has been an undeniable audience success, reaching a record number of viewers in the week following its pilot’s original airing on February 23 and eventually becoming the most broadcast show in the network’s history. However, according to a Deadline report, a recent positive COVID-19 test had previously temporarily delayed the production of the superhero series during filming, which is now impacting its position on the CW launch schedule and will require a small change to fill the gap until the show can reach future airing dates. Fortunately, there is another super show flying to deal with the situation.

Before this report, Superman and Lois it had already been renewed for the 2nd season after the crash of the pilot, news that was confirmed through the program’s official Twitter account. Since then, the series revolves around Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch) and their children Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan Kent (Alexander Garfin) just continued to increase the number of views. Due to the stoppage of production, however, Superman and Lois will pause after broadcasting its fifth episode on March 23, at which point Supergirl will begin the start of its sixth and final season on March 30 in the same period of time.

However, it appears that this plan is only a temporary bailout; Superman and Lois he will be on hiatus for only two months, returning to finish his freshman season on May 18th. So it will be Supergirl which continues to pause until the summer, when the rest of its season presents Melissa Benoist will conclude.

This is not the first time that the shows have been forced to do some rearrangements. When the CW launch schedule was first announced, Supergirl it has been remarkably left out of the list; it was revealed that this was partly due to Benoist’s maternity leave, which delayed the program’s production schedule to accommodate the protagonist. But given that we already know that this will be the last season with the Steel Girl, it seems fitting that she is temporarily stepping in to help her Kryptonian cousin one last time.

Superman and Lois will remain on the air until March 23, followed by Supergirl in its original time slot starting on March 30th and then airing until May 11th. So, it will be a return to S&L on May 18th. We will keep you informed of any new updates as we receive news.
