What Senators from Florida and Georgia said about their party votes in a $ 1,900 relief bill

Senators from the United States of Florida and Georgia voted along party lines, like all of their fellow senators, for the $ 1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill that was passed by a 50- 49 on Saturday.

The move follows five previous measures, totaling about $ 4 trillion, which Congress has approved since last spring and comes amid signs of a possible turnaround.

Here’s what Senators from Georgia and Florida said on Saturday about their party votes:

Scott released the following statement after Senate Democrats voted to approve the $ 1.9 trillion spending package, of which, Scott said, less than 10% are actually going to help fight COVID.

“Washington is completely dysfunctional. I said all the time that I want targeted help for families and companies that suffer from the pandemic. That’s why Republicans spent the whole night trying to work with Senate Democrats to do something that really helps Florida residents and Americans who are still struggling over COVID-19. But that was not what the Democrats wanted. It was never about helping the American people. Instead, they are using trillions of dollars from American taxpayers, under the guise of relief from COVID, to finance their liberal priorities and pay back their blue friends to the state governor. They really should be ashamed of this political theater.

“Our nation has a debt of US $ 28 trillion. With the approval of this bill, Senate Democrats increased their debt to $ 30 trillion, knowing that they and President Biden no plan to deal with this or its devastating consequences for American families. At this rate and in the direction the Democrats are taking us, there is no way for our nation to be able to pay this unsustainable debt without significant changes. It is time to take seriously what this means for the advancement of our nation. I will never stop fighting to ensure accountability to American taxpayers and keep Washington’s insane spending under control. ”
