The Talk – Colman Domingo reflects on ‘great brotherhood’ with Chadwick Boseman
Colman Domingo talks about his late friend and co-star Chadwick Boseman, who has just won a Golden Globe for his film “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and how his performance takes on new meaning. “I think it takes on a lot of meaning for life. I think Chad dumped everything he had in that role. I don’t know if he knew it would be his last role, but I think he led as if he were his last. I didn’t see anything else. of joy, hard work, integrity and good humor. We had a lot of fun and had a great fraternity together. We really supported each other, especially through these deeply moving scenes about faith. “He remembers a scene in which the Boseman’s character questions the faith, revealing, “It was a struggle for Chad and in the middle of it … I kind of shouted at him ‘Go on’ and said, ‘Tell me, tell me, tell me.’ And then, he explodes with that performance that we see on the screen, where he just puts everything there. And then, after that scene, we just embraced … It starts to mean more to me now, knowing that we had that moment and that was the end of it. “He adds:” It was that job … you feel like you’re really saying something about who we are as black people in America and you’re really leaving an indelible mark on the world. I’m sure he is proud. “
