Samsung’s market share increased from 7% in the 2nd quarter of 2020 to 10% in the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2020. With the end of the year, the market share of Huawei’s smartwatch dropped to 8%. The smartwatch market grew by just 1.5% last year due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the average selling price of smartwatches is expected to improve.

In 2020, Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 3, and it is rumored that the South Korean company will switch to Google’s Wear OS operating system later this year.
