It looks like Apple’s iMac Pro is going to that big computer showroom in the sky. The standard $ 4,999 model is still available on the Apple website, but only as long as current supplies last – once they run out, the iMac Pro will no longer be available, Apple told us on Saturday.

Launched in 2017, a iMac Pro was praised by Apple at the time as “by far the most powerful iMac we’ve ever made” and was aimed at professionals who needed really fast processing and a lot of computing power. But the machine has not had any significant hardware updates since.

The 27-inch iMac that launched in August last year can be configured to meet the needs of professionals and is now becoming the preferred iMac for professionals, Apple said on Saturday, adding that buyers looking for expandability and more power can turn to the Mac Pro.

Apple is getting ready to renew its iMac line of desktop computers, Bloomberg reported in January.
