“This led to rhythm problems, like skill points currently being rewarded very quickly, which can be confusing and overwhelming for younger players,” says Crystal Dynamics on the blog.
To fix this, the Marvel Avengers will begin to increase the amount of XP needed to level up from level 25 onwards. The required XP will increase the more players reach level 50, which is the current maximum level. Crystal Dynamics says players looking to maximize their characters quickly can try to work before March 18, when the update is ready to go live.
As for cosmetics, the Marvel Avengers are getting rid of random cosmetics entirely. Starting today, random cosmetic items will be temporarily removed and will reappear later at the cosmetics seller and can be purchased through Units.
In the subreddit r / PlayAvengers, players are somewhat divided as to the rework of XP. Some argue that the characters don’t even begin to feel good to play until level 50 and that adding more grind to the progression is not a solution. Others say that this change will only affect new players and that putting them in the characters during a longer progression will generate more familiarity with the game’s systems.
Crystal Dynamics shared some of the changes coming to the next-generation native version of the Marvel Avengers on PS5, including native 4K resolution or 4K checkered 60FPS (in performance mode), as well as improved load times, more resolution textures high and more. Check the full details of the next generation here.
