The CDC will announce new guidelines as soon as this Thursday about what fully vaccinated Americans can do, including allowing small meetings at home with other vaccinated individuals, reports the Politico.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical advisor to President Biden, previewed the script back to life somewhat normal on Monday.
“I use the example of a daughter who comes from another city who is doubly vaccinated, and a husband and wife doubly vaccinated, and maybe a neighbor next door, who you know is doubly vaccinated,” said Fauci at a White House Conference press release from Task Force COVID-19 on Monday.
“Small meetings at people’s homes, I think you can clearly feel that the risk, the relative risk, is so low that you wouldn’t have to wear a mask, that you could have a good social gathering at home.”
‘KEEP AN EYE’ IN THE NEW YORK CORONAVIRUS VARIANT, FAUCI warns
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, head of the CDC, did not say when the new guidelines would be released, but said that the CDC is “looking forward to launching them soon”.
While a small home meeting with other vaccinated people is not the party that most Americans want, it is the first time that the Biden government has signaled that it is willing to loosen restrictions.
Despite this, Dr. Walensky warned Americans not to be complacent amid new variants and tens of thousands of new cases every day.
“I really want to keep an eye on the fact that our cases are increasing now. A little bit, but they are,” said Dr. Walensky on Monday. “And so, the goal is not to open up trips, open things up because we are increasing vaccination.”

The FDA approved Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use this week, making it the third vaccine available to Americans.
President Biden invoked the Defense Production Act to increase Johnson & Johnson’s manufacturing capacity on Tuesday, which he said will allow all Americans to have access to a vaccine by May.
“I am pleased to announce today, as a result of the accelerated process that I have ordered and just outlined, this country will have enough vaccine supplies – I will say again – for every adult in America by the end of May,” said Biden on Tuesday. “At the end of May. This is progress – important progress.”
