Stand-up comedian Bill Burr is not a fan of the culture of cancellation and he has made this known before, most recently during his Saturday Night Live monologue in October.
In a recent episode of it The Bill Bert Podcast podcast with Bert Kreischer (see above), the subject of his Mandalorian co-star Gina Carano was created and how she was fired by Disney because of her statements on social media, comparing being conservative in Hollywood to being Jewish in Nazi Germany. In the Disney + series, Burr plays a Migs Mayfield, a rogue bounty hunter.
“She was an absolute love. Super f * cking cool person. And you know, whatever it is, somehow someone is going to make this ef * cking video make me say something else and try to get rid of my bald action figure! ”The Massachusetts native defended, referring to how Hasbro also canceled Carano’s Cara Dune action figure. The toy maker hasn’t made a figure yet in Mayfield.

“I’m on that shit show. Now, I have to see what the hell I say, ”he added.
“As it is out there, it’s a fucking crazy hour. There are people waiting, just planting in the bush, “explained Burr of the current culture of cancellation,” Let’s show that he is human and that he made a mistake in the past and took that dream away. “
Burr continued, “How do you keep yourself from judging someone so harshly? I’m not talking about hardcore shit like sexual assault and rape and stuff. I am not talking about this. Now it’s becoming, like, ‘Hey, you made an ignorant comparison. There goes your dream. ‘I look at this and say’ Who the hell is against this? ‘ “
Added guest Joe DeRosa: “I understand what she was trying to say. Obviously, any comparison with anything with the Holocaust is a poor quality comparison, it is a stupid thing, I am not disagreeing with any of this.
“However, how different this is from all the people on the left when Trump was elected and they said, ‘He’s like Hitler.’ How is this different? ”, He added.
Burr’s SNL The monologue was controversial, provoking a big reaction on social networks as it attacked those who wear masks, the month of gay pride and sparked the culture.
It is not certain whether Burr will return for Disney + ‘s third season The Mandalorian. Note, Lucasfilm is shooting Boba Fett’s Book currently for fall with the third season of Mandalorian late.
