Oppo’s flagship faces the Galaxy S with three models with four cameras each

Oppo is not a household name in the United States, but in Europe and other territories it is a common sight for buyers of budget and medium-sized devices. The company’s flagship Find line (its equivalent to the Galaxy S) is being updated at an event in a few weeks, but a new leak is already managing to reveal practically all the information you could possibly want about these upcoming phones.

The Find X3 series will come in three main variants, just like last year: the flagship Find X3 Pro, X3 Neo mid-range and budget options X3 Lite. The distinctive design element of the flagship is a gentle tilt in the rear case that rises to meet the camera module, rather than a sharp ledge or shelf, although it is not present on the cheaper models. Oppo previously announced an advanced color accuracy system for this series.

Find X3 Pro

The big daddy of the series (above, left) will feature a huge 6.7-inch 1440p AMOLED screen with the option to upgrade to 120 Hz, powered by a high-end Snapdragon 888 processor. On the back, it uses four different camera modules: a 50-megapixel wide-angle and 50-megapixel ultra-wide, a 13MP periscope zoom lens and 5MP microlenses for complementary photographic data. The phone can combine them for 5x hybrid and 20x digital zoom functions, with a 32 MP front camera to boot.

Other subtleties include 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, a fingerprint reader under the screen, wireless charging, 65 watts fast charging and IP68 rating. The battery is a respectable 4500mAh component, all to help with that 5G radio.

Find Neo X3

The Neo slightly shrinks the Pro’s screen, up to 6.5 inches and a 1080p resolution at 90Hz. It also has to settle for a Snapdragon 865 processor – which is still fantastic when it comes to processors. She uses the same selfie camera, but the rear cameras are a bit shuffled: she swaps one of the 50 MP sensors for an ultra-wide 16 MP and discards the microlenses for a more common 2 MP macro camera. It also reduces the input resistance to IPx4 only. Strangely, it has the same battery size as the larger phone, but it loses the option of wireless charging.

Find X3 Lite

The Lite further reduces the screen to 6.44 inches, but maintains the 90 Hz option while opting for the old Gorilla Glass 3 (the others have GG5). The processor is the mid-range Snapdragon 765G, the same as the Pixel 5 and 4a 5G. The rear cameras are shuffled again: 65MP main, 8MP ultra wide and two 2MP sensors for macro and depth, respectively. The X3 lite has to settle for IP52 resistance and a 4300mAh battery, but the biggest drop is in RAM and storage: up to 8 GB and 128 GB.

All three phones run Oppo’s ColorOS 11.2, based on Android 11. They are expected to be available for purchase in Asia and Europe shortly after the announcement event, scheduled for March 11. There is no pricing information available for the phones, but last year’s models were launched for around $ 1050, $ 835, $ 520 in local currencies for Pro, Neo and Lite, respectively. As with most Oppo devices, there is no indication that they will come to the Americas.
