Like Samsung, the OnePlus looks set to reveal its next-generation devices earlier than usual this year. The OnePlus 9 series is expected to be announced later this month, and it looks like we’re going to learn about the launch in true OnePlus style – with an announcement of the announcement on March 8.
This information comes from the spill Max Jambor and it is corroborated by a page on the official website that says ambiguously: “Something new is on the horizon.” In addition to the expected OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, according to the prolific leaker Ishan Agarwal (through 91Mobiles), OnePlus 9R and Watch will also debut at the event.
Leaked images from OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro reveal a possible partnership with Hasselblad.
While the 9 and 9 Pro will have a Snapdragon 888 processor, the 9R – formerly referred to as OnePlus 9 Lite or 9E – should be powered by a Snapdragon 690 instead of the previously rumored Snapdragon 865. It will likely fill the price gap between Nord and OnePlus 9. The phone will apparently only be available in two markets, and the US is not one of them.
The highly anticipated OnePlus Watch will also appear during the event later this month. Not much is known about the watch, except that it will have a circular display and can run on Google’s Wear OS. We won’t have to wait long to find out more, as more leaks and teasers will undoubtedly arrive before the official announcement.
