In addition, players will also be able to manually enable multiplatform play (although the feature is still in beta), to play with others on any of the platforms where the game is available. Any progress made on any character will be transferred to the main game when it starts. The crafting system is not available during the demonstration.
Although Outriders share many similarities with RPGs and “looter shooters”, there are several unique aspects that are worth knowing, whether you’ve played similar games or not:
- Healing in Outriders is mainly done using aggressively the skills of the chosen classes. Each class can gain health in different ways that also align with their style of play. Understanding how your character heals is important, as well as knowing that simply hiding behind a shelter and taking careful pictures doesn’t always get the job done.
- The difficulty in Outriders is largely influenced by the World Level. As you level up and explore, you unlock additional World Tiers from the level 0 you have at the beginning. Each consecutive World Tier will offer better chances for rewards – but more difficult enemies. If you’re having problems, check your current world level to see if things can be reduced – and if you’re not lucky to find a good serve, raise the level!
- You can enjoy the entire Outriders Demo playing alone, but be aware that cooperative drop-in or drop-out mode is also available for teams of 3 to face tougher challenges.
- Although the game has support for crossplay, the feature is currently in a beta state and you will need to activate it manually in the options menu. Once activated, you can request a cross-play game code to share with friends on other platforms so that they can join your team by selecting the option Join a game using a code and then using the code game provided.
- Side missions are available in the demo – some can be found as you explore off the beaten path to where the main story after the prologue takes you, while some will only be unlocked after you have completed certain events in the story.
- Each class has fast reload skills, usually with waiting times of less than 20 seconds. Use them whenever possible, as they will be useful for dealing large damage, controlling groups of enemies, healing and much more!
- Although it is not possible to create in the demo, you can start to disassemble equipment to gain materials. As your progress is transferred to the main game, you can guarantee that you will have many resources to work with.
