A lawyer representing nearly a dozen people is calling for a sexual abuse investigation against rapper TI and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris.
In a letter sent to state and federal authorities in Georgia and California, lawyer Tyrone A. Blackburn, who is representing the 11 “victims”, alleged “sexual abuse, forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, kidnapping, terrorist threats and private prison “the rapper (birth name Clifford Harris) and his wife between 2005 and 2018, the New York Times reports.
Five of the victims cited in the letters claim to have been raped or sexually abused by the couple. One of the women, a military veteran, says she was drugged by the couple after meeting them at a club; later, she was taken to their hotel room – experiencing the effects of the alleged drug – where she claimed that Tiny bathed her and TI, and the three then had sex, during which the woman vomited.
“The next thing she remembers was waking up naked on the couch, with a towel thrown over her, with a very sore vagina,” says the letter. Friends of the woman corroborated her story for the Times.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, the couple’s lawyer Steve Sadow said, “Clifford (TI) and Tameka Harris deny in the strongest possible terms these baseless and baseless claims. We are confident that if these claims are investigated fully and fairly, no charges will be made. These allegations are nothing more than the continuation of a sordid campaign of extinction that began on social media. The Harris plead with everyone not to be fooled by these obvious attempts to manipulate the press and abuse the justice system. ”
After several women shared their sexual abuse charges against TI and Tiny on social media – including Sabrina Peterson, who in January accused TI of putting a gun to her head in an Instagram post. She then used her account to share testimonials from more than 30 women who claimed to have been drugged, coerced or forced to have sex and trafficked by the Harris – production was halted in the couple’s fourth season of VH1. reality show TI and Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle. Blackburn told the Times that none of his clients were among the women who alleged sexual abuse on social media.
An MTV Entertainment spokesman said: “We are aware of the allegations and, although they are not related to our program, we contacted TI and Tameka Harris, as well as local and state officials. Given the seriousness of the complaints, we decided to suspend production to obtain more information ”.
The TI spokesman said in a statement: “Mr. and Mrs. Harris wishes to be on record and, most importantly, to let the public know that they emphatically deny in the most vehement way possible the blatantly terrible accusations made against them by Sabrina Peterson. The Harris had difficulties with this woman for more than a decade. They are taking this matter very seriously and, if these allegations are not over, they will take appropriate legal action. ”
TI itself addressed the charges in an eight-minute January 29 video posted on Instagram. “We vehemently deny ALL of these disgusting and anonymous claims,” wrote the rapper, saying that, although “the women who were victimized deserve to be heard … however, the evil has no gender. People with bad intentions have no gender. A threat comes in all shapes and sizes. I would never treat a woman the way I would treat a threat. “
