This fortune cookie has lived up to its name.
Ernesto Sorzano’s Chinese food dinner paid off when he threw the set of lucky numbers on his fortune cookie on a North Carolina Powerball ticket, according to the UPI.
Sorzano said he used the numbers when buying a $ 3 power-play ticket – and they ended up hitting four of the winners, which earned him $ 500,000.
The Florida resident – who is moving to Huntersville, NC – told the news agency that he will use his earnings to buy a new home there.
“This was a good investment,” said Sorzano of his rice and shrimp dinner, as well as a dessert cookie.
“Unbelievable. I am very happy that my dreams have come true,” he said.
Sorzano took home $ 353,751 after taxes on Monday, the report said.
The chances of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million, according to lottery officials.
