OnePlus will launch its ‘9R’ phone and watch in March

OnePlus may have a particularly rough March. Well-known informant Ishan Agarwal said 91Mobiles that OnePlus will reveal at least four devices in March, including a low-cost 9R smartphone (you’re looking at the 8T above), as well as the company’s standard 9, 9 Pro and previously released smartwatch. Although Agarwal has no new specs to share with the 9R or the watch, it comes just days after Evan Blass found evidence on the web for the name 9R.

The 9R was previously mentioned as a 9E or 9 Lite and can bridge the gap between the usual OnePlus flagships and budget devices like the Nord N. series. It wouldn’t surprise anyone with its 6.5 inch 90 Hz screen, Snapdragon 690 chip or 64 MP main camera, but it can offer more RAM and battery (8 GB and 5,000 mAh respectively) than the Nord N10 with 6 GB of memory and 4,300 mAh battery. The 9 and 9 Pro are expected to include smoother 120 Hz screens, more powerful Snapdragon 888 chips and updated camera technology (if at lower resolutions), so you still have a clear incentive to spend more if your budget allows .

The OnePlus watch, in turn, could be a circular Wear OS watch that shares some points in common with the Oppo Watch RX.

If the statements are accurate, you can expect OnePlus to start promoting the 9R, the watch and other offerings in the near future. It is safe to say that this would be the biggest OnePlus launch ever made – it would have four major new products and a full range of phones covering most use cases. Whether fans will be happy or not is another story (a compromised 9R device doesn’t exactly scream “Never Settle”), but at least they won’t have to choose.
